Since 2011, Squashed Grapes has established itself as a community treasure, providing jazz from various genres. Internationally known artists, such as Dave Liebman (Miles Davis), Mike Garson (David Bowie), Colin Bailey, Tom Scott and Danny Carey have graced their tiny stage. Meanwhile, the club has provided a fertile ground for local musicians to form bands and allow America’s Classical Music to prosper in our small city.
The Grape is moving to new digs in Midtown Ventura where they will enjoy a bigger venue and a full bar with liquor. But the move has been delayed as the City of Ventura must give priority to Thomas Fire victims in the permit process. Meanwhile, owners Adam Randall and Josh McNutt must continue paying rent on their new digs.
So Adam and Josh need your help. On Sunday, Nov. 25, some of the area’s best-known musicians, who call The Grape home, will donate their services for the cause.
All proceeds from the suggested donation of $10 will go to The Grape’s GoFundMe fundraiser. Buy tickets at the door.
Location: The Hong Kong Inn, 435 E. Thompson Blvd. Ventura, CA 93001. Music starts at 6 p.m. and goes until…
