8:00 a.m. Friday, June 12: 898 acres. 30% containment. 200 firefighters continue to build and improve containment line around the fire. Evacuation warning remains in effect.
8:44 a.m. Thursday, June 11: 450 acres and 20% containment. No estimate on when full containment will be reached. 250 fire fighting personnel are on the fire lines working to build and strengthen fire lines around perimeter of the fire.
8:20 a.m. Thursday, June 11 – Update expected soon, as of 7 a.m. VCFD reporting 450 acres, 20% containment and two major injuries occurred last night. Fact sheet expected at 8 a.m. has not yet been released.

6:40 p.m. 25 structures threatened. All of Piru Canyon Rd, from Orchard St. is under mandatory evacuation. 77 fire fighters are on the lines.
6:03 p.m. Mandatory evacuation area announced. Currently at 200 acres with expected to reach 1000 acres. Moving east toward Lake Piru.
5:33 p.m. – Hard road closure of Piru Canyon Road from Orchard St. north up canyon.
At about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, a brush fire north west of Lake Piru was reported. Estimated to be about eight to ten acres. Crews determining what type of air craft to order. Rapidly spreading, “spotting” in front of the fire line.
Three copters ordered. Difficult access to fire line. A road is between the fire and trailer structures.
10 engines requested. Staging is at Rancho Temescal.
