8 a.m. Friday, June 12: 289 acres. 100% containment. Transitioning to patrol status.
8:44 a.m. Thursday, June 11: Official update still at 275 acres with 70 percent containment. As support is released from this fire crews are reassigned to LIME fire at Lake Piru. 135 fire fighters on the lines. Expect ongoing patrol and mop up throughout Thursday.
8:26 a.m. Thursday, June 11: 275 acres, 70% containment. Expected fact sheet at 8 a.m.
11:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 : Crews will be mopping up and patrolling throughout the night but the forward movement of the fire has been stopped. No evacuations or road closures.
ELIZABETH FIRE – Near Wells Rd./Ventura: On Wednesday, June 10, at approximately 10:30 a.m. a fire started in the hills north of Foothill Rd, near Wells Rd. Crews attacked it aggressively quickly calling in fixed and rotor wing air craft to fight the fire being very aware of high voltage power lines and tall towers in the area.
At approximately 3:50 p.m. Ventura County Fire Department announced the fire had grown to about 250 acres and was 20 percent contained. Two fire fighters have been transported for medical care due to exhaustion/illness.
No road closures or evacuations are ordered at this time.
