We are calling for entries for our annual photo contest.

2018 FIRST PLACE | Justin Kaplan
Recently hiked Pipiwai Trail in South Maui and came across a giant bamboo forest. Wanting to get a different perspective I gently laid my camera down facing up and set my camera to a 10 second timer while I attempted to climb the bamboo.

The VCReporter went through a number of changes toward the end of 2019, and the photo contest fell off the radar.

But it’s back — and we’re excited to offer it again in 2020! This year, we will be featuring the winning entries in our Feb. 13 issue, so special consideration will be given to photos that celebrate love. Every year, we get numerous sunset photos, so we’re hoping you’ll give us something different this time around.

Send us your best photos of the year for a chance to win prizes, have your images published in the VCReporter and snag some serious bragging rights.

Photo Entry Deadline:

Thursday, Feb. 6, at Noon

Winners and runners up will be published in the Feb. 13 issue of the VCReporter.

Email entries to: nshaffer@timespublications.com or mail photos to: VC Reporter, 700 E. Main St., Ventura, CA 93001

Each entry/email submission must include the photographer’s name, address and phone number and please include a brief note describing your experience.

Photograph must have been created on or after Jan. 1, 2019, and not been submitted to a previous VCReporter photo contest. Individuals are limited to two submissions each. * Not applicable for website purchases

We are considering doing a photo contest in Dec. 2020 to get back on track.
