On a cold, clear, windy night, hundreds of paper lanterns — illuminated with LED lights — were hung along Main Street in Downtown Ventura for the city’s first ever Lantern Street Festival. Attendees braved the cold to decorate and hang their own lanterns, shop at vendor booths and dance to live musical performances, which included a set by country duo Pretty Polly (pictured). It was a night to celebrate the light and, for a time, banish the darkness of winter.
