The City of Ventura has named David Ward interim Community Development Director, filling in for Jeffrey Lambert who had the position since 2009.
Ward, who served as Planning Manager for the city, begins immediately.
No reason has yet been given for Lambert’s replacement. The Community Development Department oversees four divisions, including Building & Safety, Planning, Economic Development and Code Enforcement. Recently, Lambert lead rebuilding efforts following the Thomas Fire.
A release from the City says that Ward has helped to “create great places in our neighborhoods and community.”
Assistant City Manager Barry Fisher says that the city has no specific timeline on when or if they can comment further on the matter.
“Right now, he’s just off on a leave, and that’s about all I can tell you about it,” said Fisher.
