The Polynesian voyaging canoe Hikianalia will visit the Channel Islands and Ventura harbors from Oct. 6 through 14 as part of a 2,800-mile journey from Hawaiii using traditional non-instrumental navigation, solar and wind power. On Saturday, Oct. 6, a traditional Hawaiian performance will welcome the canoe, and dockside tours will be available as well as meet-and-greets with the crew, before the canoe departs to the Channel Islands, where it will dock at Santa Cruz Island before heading to Los Angeles.
