Taryn, 1, female French bulldog mix
Taryn is a 1.5-year-old female French bulldog mix. She is a little shy when meeting new people, but warms up quickly. She is a good walker, too. She will not have a problem adjusting to any household, no matter the type of pets or number of people.

Taryn can be seen at the Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center at 705 E. Santa Barbara St. in Santa Paula. For more information, call 525-8609. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Neron, 4, male purebred chow
Neron was rescued from a backyard breeder with a few other chows. Like the other chows, he was afraid of people, but now, with consistent love and attention from the kennel staff, he has blossomed into an outgoing boy. Neron enjoys going for walks, wading in the water and playing fetch. He’s probably best suited to live in a one-dog household, but might do well with a cat. He will need a home that will continue to socialize him, and give him lots of exercise and attention.

Neron can be seen by calling the Canine Adoption and Rescue League (C.A.R.L.) at 644-7387 to schedule a meet-and-greet at the sanctuary in Santa Paula, or the adoption center in Ventura. C.A.R.L. also has regular viewing hours for select dogs from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday at Sam’s Place Adoption Center, located behind Ventura Pet Barn, at 3203 E. Main St.
