Ever since the financial collapse of 2008, Americans have treaded carefully, watching for signs of recovery and hoping for gains in the marketplace. And while mainstream news media makes many people doubtful of progress, here in Ventura County, we have seen new businesses turn into success stories and older businesses holding their ground. The growth and potential for it far exceeds the negative.
For this year’s Best Of Ventura County, we highlighted landmark businesses as well as newer endeavors that have become essential to area residents, whether it be those businesses who care for our beloved animals, those that train us in the martial arts, help us find our inner chi or even give us some good times around the roller rink, plus so much more. Through the hard times, we as a community have learned about the importance of living local and buying local, and have put our money where our mouths are.
Without further delay, we present to you the winners — the top choices of our readers’ survey — of the Best of Ventura County 2013!
We’d like to thank our readers for voting, our advertisers for their support and the community at large for helping to make this the biggest issue in Ventura County Reporter history. Enjoy!
