At 1 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 4, the Ventura Police Department responded to a silent alarm at the Pacific Western Bank in the 100 block of S. Chestnut Street.
The suspect, Ventura resident Carmen Ioanes, 46, had entered the bank and demanded money from the teller after declaring that she was robbing them while holding an unknown type object.
The teller in fear for her safety complied with the suspects’ demands.
The suspect began to leave the bank but returned to another teller indicating she wanted more money. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money from each teller.
As the suspect left the bank patrol officers arrived. The suspect was immediately taken into custody without incident.
This crime is being investigated by the Ventura Police Department and FBI.
