DEKE DICKERSON AND THE ECCO-FONICS Punkers always embraced the simplicity and purity of early rock ’n’ roll. Consequently the early 1980s punk scene spawned a roots rockabilly revival that would evolve into the rockabilly movement we see today. In those days, young Deke Dickerson was collecting records and when he stumbled upon some Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent vinyl it changed his course. As he tells it, the records knocked his socks off and the rest is history — at least for the Americana set. Dickerson is now one of the most revered guitarists of the genre and is known for his taut playing on a double neck. Dave Gleason will open with an acoustic set. Join all the kool kats who will undoubtedly pack his appearance in Ventura this weekend.  Friday, Aug. 7, 8 p.m. at Yolie’s, 26 S. Garden St., Ventura. 652-0338.
