SOFTSILENCE Mostly the brainchild of Oxnard singer-songwriter Bryan Dixon, Oxnard’s Softsilence is garnering some buzz with its soft-rock, Coldplayesque heartfelt piano ballads. Emotional but not emo, Softsilence has won its share of Battle of the Bands and is planning to release its first CD in early 2010. They are joined by Private Wasabi and Ship of the Rising Sun. Saturday, Nov. 14, 7 p.m. at the Ventura Theater. 26 S. Chestnut, Ventura. www.myspace.com/thesoftsilence
GWAR descends on the Ventura Theater once again on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 7 p.m. with Job for a Cowboy.
A Reporter favorite, The All Seeing Eyes will be at Bombay Bar & Grill on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 12 p.m. for Marisa LaFata’s going away party.
It’s a rockabilly party at the Dirty Vinyl on Saturday, Nov. 14, 9 p.m. with all sorts of retro debauchery and live music by The Resistors, Pal Joey, the Deadbeat Sinners and the Iron Outlaws.
